With nearly three decades of experience, Grant’s journey at Western began with HED Insurance and Risk Services (now Central Insurance Solutions) and has since evolved through senior leadership roles including President & CEO of Western Life and President of Western Financial Group Insurance Solutions. Most recently, as Chief Growth Officer, he spearheaded strategic initiatives that directly fueled business growth and market impact.

A proven architect of high-performance teams, Grant brings a relentless focus on leadership accountability, clarity, and results. His leadership promise is grounded in clear communication, trust, and empowering others to excel. Grant holds a Bachelor of Economics from the University of Manitoba and remains dedicated to cultivating future-ready teams that drive exceptional results.

Chief Operating Officer | Chair, Western Communities Foundation Board

A seasoned leader with two decades of progressive experience at Western Financial Group, Nancy Green-Bolton has proven herself as a transformative operator and strategic financial steward. Recently appointed COO—following a 18-year journey that included serving as Chief Financial and Risk Officer—she now oversees the company’s full operational spectrum, partnering with CEO Grant Ostir to drive execution, excellence and impact. Nancy is deeply committed to fostering a culture where employees feel valued, supported, and empowered, believing that the success of the company is directly tied to the growth and well-being of its people.

Previously, as CFO & Chief Risk Officer, Nancy led Western’s financial strategy, governance, and risk disciplines—managing finance and accounting, business intelligence, facilities, strategy, and risk & compliance. Under her leadership, Western gained operational efficiencies and supported critical strategic initiatives that fueled increased profitability .

Nancy’s appointment as Chair of the Western Communities Foundation Board underscores her commitment to social impact and community care. Under her leadership, the foundation has continued to amplify Western’s national volunteer efforts—from Earth Day cleanups and tree plantings to ongoing grants—furthering its mission to foster safer, thriving communities across Canada .

Before joining Western, Nancy honed her financial and leadership capabilities over 12 years with Weston Bakeries and Kraft Canada. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Calgary and is a designated CPA.

Chief Information and Technology Officer

As Western’s Technology Leader, Craig leads a national team that includes AI Innovation & Solutions, Cyber Security & IT Compliance, IT Service Delivery, Business Applications, Application Development & Integration, and the Infrastructure & Operations teams.

Joining Western in 2018 and with over 30 years of Technology leadership experience spanning both the private sector (Technology VAR’s, technology consulting, M2M telecom) and the public sector as a Solutions Information Officer for Manitoba’s Healthcare system, Craig has successfully led dynamic teams to proven success in a variety of industries. In addition to his operational responsibilities, Craig and his team are dedicated to Western’s Strategic Plan and are focused on providing a modern Customer and User Experience at Western Financial Group.

Chief Underwriting Officer

As the Chief Underwriting Officer at Western Financial Group, Jonathan Hoey brings over 20 years of insurance industry leadership, driven by a passion for innovation, a deep understanding of risk and a collaborative approach to delivering results. In his current role, Jonathan leads the optimization of carrier partnerships and spearheads the underwriting and claims strategy across National Insurance Operations – ensuring that teams are empowered, aligned, and delivering strong performance across all lines of business.

A firm believer in leadership through influence and integrity, Jonathan has built a reputation for fostering high performing cross-functional teams that thrive on purpose and accountability. Under his direction the organization has significantly expanded its delegated authority and specialty program capabilities, targeting strategic growth and scale while strengthening Western’s competitive edge across Canada.

Prior to joining Western, Jonathan held senior roles with several domestic insurance carriers where he oversaw distribution, led transformative projects across rate design, built governance frameworks and developed strong underwriting talent across Canada.
