Western Communities Foundation Awards
Exceptional Achievement Citation & Bursary Award
The Western Communities Foundation Exceptional Achievement Citation and Bursary Award, of $500, is awarded to a High School Graduate in each community served by Western Financial Group.
In 2007, we had 41 bursary recipients in our communities, 36 were awarded in 2008, and 50 were awarded in 2009.
Award recipients are those who intend to seek further training or education to become productive citizens of Canada and who have done one or more of the following:
- Have overcome adversity (mental/physical disability), financial hardship or family issues.
- Displayed outstanding community and/or school spirit as an organizer, participant or volunteer.
- Who has demonstrated inspirational conduct whether an act of heroism or leadership in a crisis.
Students may be nominated by any member of the school teaching staff, support or administrative staff or by a member of the parent teacher’s council.
